What is Karate?
Karate is an Okinawan Martial Art of Self-Defence. It originated around the mid 1700's and since then has spread and evolved across the entire world in a number of different forms and styles. Because of this all Karate Clubs are different and place different emphasis on certain parts of Karate. Shoto Jissen Karate-do specializes in Realistic Self-Defence Training, using the soft skills of conflict management and avoidance with the traditional Okinawan methods of combat should a fight occur.
